There are many resources for parents in New York City, but sometimes they are hard to find! Get started with the resources below, and let us know if you are looking for something else.

  • Throughout the city, there are 32 school districts. Each school district has a CEC. Each CEC oversees the elementary and junior high schools within their district. Parents serve a two year term on 36 Councils throughout the city, including the 32 Community Education Councils and the 4 Citywide Councils.

  • District 20 is located in the southwest section of Brooklyn, spanning from the Verrazano Bridge to Borough Park and the southern section of Sunset Park.

  • PS 185 offers late a pick-up option for for $5. Students must be picked up by 3pm. Learn more here.

    Students can also apply to NIA after-school program. Learn more here.

    Other programs that pick up students directly from the school include Stepping Stones and Bright Ideas. These are independent programs, and not affiliated with PS 185 or the PTA.
