Read-A-Thon

It's time for the PS 185 PTA Read-A-Thon!

Our school Read-A-Thon begins on today, April 1, 2026 and is sure to be a fun and exciting event.

We understand that your time is valuable. We also know that providing the best education for your child is important. That's why we are encouraging everyone to activate their student's Read-A-Thon account as soon as possible. The instructions are straightforward, making it quick and hassle-free, and it should take less than 5 minutes of your time.

Watch a short video to see how to signup your reader:

https://youtu.be/12tmuXH8zCg

This account will serve as a hub for recording and monitoring your child's progress as a Reader in the event, and for you to share their Read-A-Thon message with friends and family. Click the button below to activate your student's Reader account.

We have also prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions, which we hope you’ll find helpful since spring break starts tomorrow.

Thank you so much for your participation and support. Together, we can make this Read-A-Thon an amazing experience for our young readers!

Holiday Express

Each December, our school community comes together for the Holiday Express, an engaging, hands-on celebration of winter traditions from around the world. Parent volunteers host themed tables representing a variety of winter holidays, giving students an opportunity to explore customs and traditions from many cultures. Classes “travel” from table to table with their train tickets, take photos on our festive train, and enjoy meaningful activities at each stop.

This event will take place on Thursday, December 19, from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. during the school day and is open only to students.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please make sure to complete the Volunteer Sign-Up Form.
