PS 185's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where all students, staff, and the community are celebrated and valued, regardless of their backgrounds.

Through education, collaboration, and engagement, the committee seeks to cultivate empathy, understanding, and cross-cultural awareness. We actively work to break down barriers, challenge biases, and promote justice to create a more equitable learning environment. Our mission includes nurturing a sense of belonging, encouraging open dialogue, and empowering students to embrace diversity, ensuring every child at PS 185 is respected and welcome. Additionally, our focus is not just on promoting diversity but also on celebrating the unique tapestry of our community.
