My name is Lauren Mehta and I’m so excited to be your PTA secretary alongside Kim Langel!

I have a son Devin who is currently in first grade, a daughter in 3k who will hopefully also come to PS185 and a one year old! Since starting our journey at PS 185 last year I have tried to become involved by being a class mom, co chairing the Spring Market this year, and volunteering at events like Holiday Express, the Gala, Book Fair, Plant Sale and Cultural Fair.

I am excited to join in continuing to make our school a place where every child can flourish.

Before transitioning to being a full-time mom, I worked as a school counselor for 8 years in private schools. That experience gave me a unique "behind-the-scenes" understanding of school operations and the importance of clear communication between parents and staff.

I truly love PS185 because of its welcoming spirit and incredible teachers. I want to see our school continue to thrive and succeed, and I’m looking forward to using my background and my passion for our kids' education to help the PTA accomplish that!
